A Simple Morning Routine

I love starting my day with a cup of warm lemon water or herbal tea! Simple rituals that are relaxing are a great start to your morning routine.

Lemon water is so good for your skin, it's high in vitamin C, which is necessary for collagen production, and it contains so many enzymes that help support your liver.

Here's how you make it.

You will need:

  • 8 ounces of water

  • 1/4 to 1/2 of a lemon, juiced (start with 1/4 and work your way up)


Method #1: In a small saucepan, heat up the water on high heat for about 1-2 minutes and turn it off before it starts to boil! Meanwhile, juice the lemon into your mug, remove the seeds and add warm water and enjoy!


Method #2: Boil some water in the kettle. Meanwhile, juice the lemon into your mug, remove the seeds, and add some cold or room temperature water (depending on how cold it is, add more or less). Top with a little bit of hot water to warm it up and enjoy!

*The reason you don't want to add hot water to the lemon juice is that the heat would kill the enzymes and vitamins in the lemon!

Note: To protect the enamel on my teeth, I drink this first, wait 30-60 minutes, and then brush my teeth. If you don't have time to do that you can drink this with a straw to avoid it touching your front teeth. Regardless of what method you choose just be sure that you are not swishing it around in your mouth!
